“I discovered I helped my body the most, and I can do the same for others.”

I grew up in Arkansas, sometimes on a farm and sometimes somewhere else in a small town, with Spanish being my first language. Growing up wasn't easy or glamorous, and I never felt like I belonged. I didn't know much outside Arkansas but knew I was meant for more. So, at 17, I decided to take a leap of faith, before I knew what that meant, and with my mother's permission, I moved to Los Angeles. The hardships of being a young adult started to roll in and hit hard. I was stressed, a full-time student, moving from place to place, and felt utterly alone, being so far from family. Then one day, while walking across the street to do my homework, a driver of an SUV was not paying attention and hit me. It was from that point that life would never be the same. Fast forward four years, hardships, crooked lawyers, a broken healthcare system, depression, sleepless nights, and chronic pain– I took it upon myself to heal my body on my own. It was hard, it is hard, but through my journey, I discovered that I helped my body the most, and I can do the same for others.
